However, walk-ins are warmly welcome during our designated visiting hours for a brief greeting or to explore our estate shop.
Our estate is open for visits on:
    Monday: 10:00 – 12:00
    Wednesday: 12:00 – 14:00
    Friday: 18:00 – 20:00
    Saturday: 10:00 – 12:00
Please note that hours may occasionally adjust based on the season or private events. We always recommend reaching out to confirm.
Absolutely. Rakidio is a family-friendly, living estate. Children are welcome to meet the farm animals, explore the vegetable garden, and learn about traditional cheese-making. While the raki distillation process is a fascinating cultural experience for all to observe, the tasting portion is naturally reserved for adults.
We recommend comfortable, closed-toe shoes suitable for walking on traditional rural paths and stone terraces. Since we are located in the mountains of Sellia, the weather can be slightly cooler and breezier than the coast, so bringing a light layer is always a good idea.
Yes! Before you leave, you are welcome to visit our small estate shop. We offer selected traditional Cretan products of our own production, crafted with simplicity and respect for tradition. You will find raki, wine, honey, rakomelo, olive oil, natural soaps, and herbs — all simply packaged and ready for travel.
We are located in the traditional, mountainous village of Sellia, in the Rethymno region of Crete. The estate is situated about a 20-minute scenic drive above the coastal town of Plakias. The mountain roads are beautiful but require a bit of attention. We highly recommend using a GPS and asking us for detailed, up-to-date driving instructions when you book your visit.
